The Firm represents clients before the Appellate Courts of Massachusetts on both direct and interlocutory appeals. Illustrative matters include: - Defeating an appeal by a Massachusetts town seeking dismissal of Plaintiff's claim that the town and its manager violated the Massachusetts Uniform Procurement Act and unfair and deceptive trade practices statute in connection with a public bid. The Firm successfully argued that the Massachusetts Torts Claims Act did not apply to Plaintiff's claims and the Massachusetts Appeals Court dismissed the Town's appeal and ordered that Plaintiff's claims proceed to trial in State Superior Court;
- Bringing an interlocutory appeal to the Massachusetts Appeals Court on behalf of a major retail chain against a local Board of Health;
- Bringing an appeal on behalf of a company against its former managerial employees and competitor for alleged breach of duty of loyalty, misappropriation of trade secrets and intentional interference with advantageous business relations;
- Recently arguing before the Appellate Tax Board that the Firm's client, a non-profit corporation, should be exempt from property taxes because it is a charitable organization.
